Welcome Home!

September 30, 2010

On my lunch break, I made a quick stop at Target to pick up two of these end tables (on sale for $30/each at my Target) for the den/man cave:

I fell in love with them when I first spotted them about a month ago but didn't know where to put them. However, when we started converting the office into a den/man cave, a light bulb went off and I knew they'd be perfect for the space! Welcome home little guys :)

Ch-ch-ch-changes

September 28, 2010

I'm currently in the process of converting my guest bedroom from an office into a den A.K.A. "the man cave." I hope to have before and after photos of the change posted by this weekend but in the meantime, here's a little progress shot to show you the mess I'm working with! Enjoy :)

P.S.: Sorry for the crappy cell phone shot, my camera was buried somewhere in that mess haha

Another Rug Bites the Dust

September 20, 2010

Unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to be buying a new living room rug sooner than I expected. I'm currently living with a white shag one that I got at Home Depot for about $80 a little over four months ago (see below).

Although the rug was initially purchased for temporary use as a replacement to my old one that was ruined when my hardwood floors were installed, it's been great except for the fact that when it's stepped on it, the fluffiness flattens out immediately, it's a dog fur magnet and it sheds like crazy unless I vacuum it daily.

Hunting For: Table Lamps

September 19, 2010

Today I plan on making my rounds at HomeGoods, T.J. Maxx, Marshall's and maybe Ross to find a set of table lamps for my living room since the ones I had in there have been relocated to the bedroom. However, if I end up coming home with nothing, I do have several favorites I could order online.

Let's start with exhibit A, the Rose Line Lamp from CB2:

I like the overall shape of the lamp, the little red cord peeking through and how the base takes up no visual weight but at $99 each, they're at the top of my price range. Plus, I have three clumsy dogs and if one of them were to accidentally knock into an end table causing one of the lamps to topple over and break, I may just have a mini-heart attack!

Rue

September 17, 2010

Rue magazine arrived on digital newsstands yesterday and like many others, I instantly fell in love! The photography is amazing and the content varies so there's something for everyone.

Well Hello There!

September 16, 2010

Welcome to my desert domicile! Take your shoes off, grab yourself a drink and stay a while as I ramble on about life, love and the pursuit of decorative accessories. While you're here, allow me to introduce myself - my name is Caitlin and I'm a graphic designer by day and self-proclaimed interior decorator by nights and weekends.

I'm a native of Chicago, IL but relocated to the desert of Tucson, AZ two years ago and since then, I've spent most of my time transforming my 25-year-old desert domicile from it's former state as a vacation home (more on that later) to it's current state of a fabulous home (if I may say so myself)!

Join me on my sweat equity journey which promises to include DIY projects, thrifty finds, vignette styling and other miscellaneous ramblings :)
