For those of you that read about my dining room Christmas decor, you may remember seeing a small mirror hanging in front of the window:
Well that mirror has been taken down and a new, abstract painting has taken its place:
I'm a sucker for abstract art so when I spotted this bad boy at HomeGoods last weekend, I had to have it. I couldn't hang it on the drapery rod (where my mirror was hung) so I bought some cheap screw eye hooks at Lowe's, did a little measuring and some drilling and hung the painting from the ceiling.
Sure hanging art in front of a window is considered a design no-no but I wanted something dramatic above my sideboard and the mirror just wasn't cutting it for me so I broke the rules a little.
What do you think of the change? What's a design no-no you've broken?
