My boyfriend and I got out of Tucson this weekend and headed up to Phoenix. I took Friday off so we left town as soon as my boyfriend got off work and arrived around 5:30. We checked into our hotel and then headed downtown for some dinner. After dinner, we went to the art district (specifically to The Lab 137) for Johnny Cupcakes' Coffin Tour.
We waited in line for 5 hours to get some merchandise and then we waited another hour to meet him and have him sign our stuff. We spent 6 hours standing and waiting and every second of that time was worth it because I finally met one of my idols! Johnny was so genuine and sweet and is someone who honestly loves his fans and I'm happy to be one of them :)
Anyway, we checked back into our hotel a little after 1am and passed out. The next morning we woke up, had breakfast, and then headed out to the Phoenix Zoo:
These Meerkats killed me with their cuteness! This guy sat and posed for the crowd:
While this guy gave everyone his big sad eyes:
He just woke up from a nap :)
This little spider monkey was super cute too:
I loved the way he curled up to sleep :)
She was waiting for one of the staff members to open the gate. When we circled back around, the gate was open and she was roaming around :)
According to the Turtle's info sign, he can weigh up to 660 lbs! That's more than the lion above (550lbs)!
This lizard hated me. So much so that he spit on me after I took this photo :( Granted I think I got my camera a little too close for his comfort but it was still disgusting!
I felt so bad for this little deer! See those birds to the right? As the little deer was eating, they were biting his butt and poking him with their beaks! I was literally yelling at them to stop because I thought they were going to hurt him! Thankfully he ran away to some brush up the hill but I was still worried about him haha
I don't know why but I was fascinated with these birds:
This photo cracks me up haha
We also stopped at IKEA on the way home where I was able to get a few things despite their marketplace under going renovations!
What'd you do this weekend?
