Elliott Wingback Chair

Happy Monday!

Ready to see which chair I chose for our loft? Let's go over the choices one last time:

Drum roll, please!

I chose chair #3!

It's the Elliott Wingback chair (in caper) from World Market:

I'm in love with them and how they fit in with the rest of our loft:

Sidenote: would you add a console table under the 1207 art, a mantel-like shelf, or leave it as-is?

The olive green color is perfect and the chairs themselves are super comfortable:

Hi boys :)

I fell in love with the chairs back in November when I bought our dining room chairs (also from World Market!) but I couldn't afford to get them then.

After we added our DIY typographic art, I started to think about chair options and the Elliott's popped into my head. They're sold out online but I decided to call my local store to see if they had a pair and they did! I had them put them on hold for me until I could pick them up after work Thursday night and, well, the rest is history!

I love how the arms flair out a little bit at the ends:

Aside from adding our new chairs, I also hung our Federal mirror from our DIY pipe curtain rod:

And I updated our the styling on our DIY console table:

I didn't plan this but Chester, both Elliott chairs, and the camel ottoman have nailhead trim. Our military trunk coffee table also has studs/rivets on it which are kind of like tiny, baby nailheads :)

My boyfriend and I joked about placing a fake glass of scotch (we don't drink) and some fake cigars (we don't smoke) on the coffee table along with a monocle and an encyclopedia since our loft looks like an old man's lounge. I love it though! Maybe I was an old grandpa in a past life haha

We never used to hang out in here but I spent a lot of time lounging around reading on Chester over the weekend. More proof that I was a grandpa in a past life ;)

We still need to get a rug:

I'm thinking the oh-so-popular Alvine Ruta from IKEA:

Hopefully it'll look better than my Photoshopped version haha

UPDATE: We got the rug! Click here to check it out :)

We also need to replace the light fixture but we're almost done!

What do you think of the new chairs? Were they your choice?

  1. Ha, love those chairs. They were one of my two guesses. The seating are looks great and I think the Ikea rug would look great there too.

  2. Love them...and I love that they aren't the standard black/brown/grey. That dark khaki colour is fantastic. My vote is no console table....I like to have lots of space around chairs - but that's just me! What about a little set of nesting tables or something, so that when you have guests you can pull them out to hold drinks/snacks and then you don't have to move stuff on your trunk?
And I totally love that you moved the mirror to hanging in the window....I think I need to hang more things in my windows now!

  3. Gorgeous! I was thinking you were going to go light (#5 or #6) but I LOVE these in the space! Great choice. I think the Ikea rug would look great in this room. I can't decide about the console table on the number art. I think you should rather add something on one side next to the chesterfield, or perhaps a cabinet with doors under the numbers. Decorating is hard... Good luck making that decision. It's coming together nicely!

  4. I LOVE it Caitlin! I like how you brought another color into the space and they look awesome. That is a lot of nail/riveting going on but perfect anyway! I like where you moved the mirror and I also think a cabinet would look great on either side of Chester.

Can't wait to see what you've got planned for the lighting!

  5. Thanks Julia! When you guessed them on Friday I was like "how does she know?!" I tried to be sneaky with my choices but I guess my style is easy to pick out haha

Thanks Kelly! I love the nesting table idea! I saw a nice set over the weekend that I passed up but now I'm wishing I would have gotten them. And yes! Hang stuff in front of your window! That particular window looks out onto the side of our neighbor's house so I didn't feel like hanging the mirror was blocking any special view or anything and I love how it looks with everything else :)

Thanks Sarah! You're right - decorating is hard haha

Thanks Crystal! The lighting will be a ceiling fan, unfortunately. We need it to help circulate the air between both floors (our loft is open to our foyer below) otherwise I'd add something fun :)

  6. I'm currently agonizing over living room furniture decisions, wingbacks being culprit number one. And we were at World Market just yesterday! You chose well. You chose very very well. Love. :)

  9. LOVE the new chairs! To go along with your "old man lounge theme", lol, I'd put a credenza under the numbers and put a pretty glass decanter set. But what caught my eye is the storage/table you have between the new chairs!! Have you talked about that? I LOVE that!

  10. Thanks Amy! In case you didn't see them, the Elliott's also come in peacock blue and a rusty orange color that are both very pretty!

    Thanks Kenz! :)

    Thanks Kelly! :)

Thanks Scotty! I actually had a glass decanter on the coffee table but it looked odd with the rest of the styling so I removed it. About the table - I'm assuming you're talking about the camel colored ottoman? I haven't mentioned it before, no. I got two of them from Target back in the fall! They have a padded top you can sit on them and the top also lifts off so you can store things inside! I don't know if Target still has the same ones but they do have some nice storage ottomans in their Threshold line :)

  11. I love them! I'd definitely leave that wall blank bc it may overcrowd though

  12. The chairs look great in there! I think you should have a glass of scotch and a cigar just to christen it as a parlor! YOLO, right? :)

  13. Thanks Amber! We're going to leave the wall blank. The plans we had for it are going to move to another wall!

Thanks Amber #2! That'd be hilarious! I'd love to do a photo shoot in there. Have everyone dress up all old-timey and what not haha

  14. Do you have any details on the two furry pillows you have on the wingback chairs? They look so luxurious and comfy!

    1. I got those pillows from Target about this time last year. They're faux fur but they're so soft and cushy! I can't remember if they were seasonal or not so you might want to check a store near you to see if they're in stock!
