We hung them up late Friday night so I don't have any process photos to show you but I'm so happy they're finally up!
We made another pipe curtain rod (10' long!) and hung it much higher than our sliding glass door's pipe curtain rod. That wasn't on accident though!
I had originally measured out the dining room window's curtain rod height to be the same as our sliding glass door's curtain rod (12" from our 10' ceiling). However, when I stepped back to look at the placement, I noticed that it didn't even clear the height of our dining room's pendant light!
I didn't like how dinky it looked above our massive 8' window so I decided to raise the height of the rod to 6 1/2" below our ceiling. I'm so happy I did because those few extra inches make such a difference! We still have to increase the height of our sliding glass door's curtain rod to match the height of our dining room's rod but thankfully that won't be too hard.
Here's how our dining room looked before we had drapes so you can see what kind of difference I'm talking about:
Seeing the before and after comparison makes me really wish we didn't take 17 months to check this project off our list! Next up: living room curtains! Maybe we'll have those hung by month 19 ;)
