Thanksgiving Table Setting Idea

Thanksgiving is only a few days away! I'm not hosting this year but if I were, this is how I imagine my whimsical woodland table settings would look:

I'd make a table runner out of some black and white ticking stripe fabric and then pile everything else on top of it.

I'd pair this rustic wooden charger with my favorite dollar store dinnerware, and a gold rimmed wine glass (also from the dollar store). If you don't have a need for wine glasses, they also have gold rimmed tumblers for sale. The glasses could easily transition into Christmas and New Year's too :)

The lace pumpkin is a DIY project that would be great for kids to do with their parents or grandparents! The pumpkin's pattern pairs nicely with the floral napkins and the aqua from the napkins ties into the aqua agate slice coaster.

The hammered gold flatware is a bit of a splurge but it could transition into other holidays like the glasses. I designed the place card for last year's tablescape but I updated the year on this year's place cards to 2013.

Last but not least, I'd place a few of these little wooden squirrels down the length of the runner. I'd also include a large centerpiece full of fresh flowers and lots of greenery!

Are you hosting Thanksgiving this year? What will your table settings look like?

  1. Love it! And oh WHY do all the gold flatware sets have to be so expensive and WHY can't Ikea come up with a cheap version ;)

  4. This is such an adorable table setting! Naturally, I adore the gold, but I love how the fun napkins, pumpkin, and squirrel keep it whimsical :)

Even though we aren't hosting Thanksgiving, or even eating Thanksgiving dinner at home, I still whipped up a thrifty & crafty Thanksgiving tablesetting. I mean, a blogger's gotta do what a blogger's gotta do, right? ;)
