Guest Bathroom Plans

Happy Monday!

Last week I mentioned that we were going to be kicking off the New Year with a guest bathroom makeover so I thought I'd share my plans with you today.

In case you need a refresher course on how the room looks now, here's a few photos:

There's nothing wrong with the room, it's just very plain and builder basic. I plan to change that though!

Here's what I'm envisioning:

Army green walls with a floor to ceiling shower curtain and maybe a future built-in shelving area/mini linen "closet" behind the door. If we were to pursue this option, I'd prefer to hire it out than do it myself because I think there'd be less headaches that way haha

The two main walls in the room would get some large typographic art. I plan on adding brass hardware on the chocolate cabinets (not my exact vanity), a new mirror (maybe frame out the large builder one?), and a new light fixture amongst other things like a new toilet paper roll holder, towel hooks, etc.

Fun fact: my purse inspired the future look of the room!

That's one side of it and here's the other:

I fell in love with it when I was working at Urban Outfitters in college and still love it to this day. I love the collection of patches and stitch work :)

Anyway, I finished a marathon painting session very late last night so I'll be sharing the newly painted room with you on Wednesday!

What do you think of my plans? Are you intrigued or terrified?

  7. I recently painted our white windowless bathroom a really dark hue and haven't decided if I like it or not yet. At first, I kept checking to see if a lightbulb was out---it was that dark! I'm totally intrigued by your plans. I love how you make builder grade spaces look so custom-made and chic!

    1. That's no fun! How big is your bathroom? We painted our windowless powder room navy and it was like walking into a cave so we had to repaint despite how much I loved the color because you simply couldn't see anything. Our guest bathroom is windowless as well but thankfully it's not cave-like at all!
