Guest Bathroom Art

Happy Monday!

Before we get to today's post, I have some shameless self promotion to address. I've been nominated for Apartment Therapy's Homie Awards in the 'Best Home Project & DIY Blog' category for the second year in a row! And no, I didn't nominate myself if you're wondering.

I'd love it if you could cast a vote for me in that category by heading over to their site and clicking the "+1" button next to my blog's name, Desert Domicile. Thank you so much! :)

Back to today's post...

I hung a few pieces of art in our guest bathroom:

You may remember these guys from our loft:

They're the same but different.

I had originally mounted cut pieces of paper to the canvases but the edges eventually started curling up and would no longer stay stuck in place. I ended up remaking each canvas last night by painting the numbers on the canvases instead of gluing them on. I probably should have just painted the numbers on the canvases in the first place but hindsight is 20/20.

Here's how the art looks from the doorway:

I haven't added any towel hooks or a toilet paper roll holder yet so please ignore the fact that they're missing :)

I also need to replace our light fixture and find a mirror for the room. Hopefully those items will be checked off the list soon!

Psst: not sure if that wood statue thing on the back of the toilet will be staying so let's ignore that too!

I like the corner placement a lot :)

What did you get done over the weekend?

  3. Looks great! Are you going to keep the ones in your loft? I kind of like the idea of repeating artwork :)

    1. Thank you! No, the ones in the loft were going to be for the bathroom but I made new ones instead. I'm going to try and salvage the loft canvases for another project :)

  4. I like that wood thing next to the olive green so maybe it can sit on the vanity since there is a lot of bare space there. Looking good!

    1. Thanks Diane! I think the wood thing will end up in the bathroom somewhere. The vanity was my first thought but the space between the #7 and the top of the toilet looked empty so I set the wood thing there for photos.

  6. Sorry - my comments keep getting eaten up. Ignore my question mark.

I love the way you hung them in the corner. Seems like a great way to get a look-see from the hallway and a unique perspective inside.

Remind me what the numbers stand for?

  11. I especially love this. I love number art. "1810" is mine and Aaron's special number. I keep thinking of something I can do to incorporate it into our house.
