I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do with the room in the mean time. I had a few ideas so I threw together some different furniture layouts to see if I can combine a guest bedroom with a studio space.
None of these layouts are to scale and I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to making them so be warned haha
Anyway, the first layout includes the Lubi daybed from CB2 and the Docksta table from IKEA:
The Lubi daybed is my dream daybed but is way out of my price range so it's just for placeholder purposes.
I like the idea of having a table in the center of the room but it takes up a lot of space. I included the 6 drawer Malm dresser we already have hiding in our guest bedroom's closet so I could store project supplies in a few drawers and guests could store their clothes in the other drawers.
Layout 2 includes the same dream daybed, a craft table, and some extra seating.
This layout leans more towards guest bedroom and less towards studio. The craft table could be used by guests as a desk or vanity. I don't love the idea of walking into the foot of the daybed but the angled wall makes furniture placement a little difficult.
This next layout includes the same daybed and desk from the layout above as well as the dresser from layout 1.
I included a table at the end of the daybed that guests could use as a nightstand as well as a chair next to the dresser because I feel like the angled wall needs something but I don't know what do do with it. Again, the craft table could be used by guests as a desk or vanity.
This last layout is packed with furniture!
I included an "L" desk in front of the window because the room has some decent views. The daybed, table, dresser, and chair all transferred over from the layout above.
I don't think any of these layouts are "the one" but at least they've given me some ideas to work with!
How would you layout the room?
