We stole the artwork from our foyer which left us with an empty space. We filled that empty space with this black and white beast:
It's a 7 1/2 foot by almost 8 foot tapestry that we mounted, framed, and hung ourselves!
I'll be posting the full DIY tutorial on Monday so let's just focus on the end result today :)
The tapestry takes up most of the lower half of our two-story foyer wall and is the first thing you see when you walk down our stairs:
I love how it looks from our living room:
If you're wondering, the top of the tapestry is lined up with the top of our living room's ceiling which is 10' high. Also, our front door is 8' tall. That may give you a better idea of how insanely huge the piece is!
Here's how things look from our loft:
We left the frame unfinished and I love how the raw wood looks with the black and white tapestry:
The bench (which I stole from our bedroom) is too small so I'm looking for a replacement!
I bought the constellations tapestry from Urban Outfitters back in May.
I loved the bold, graphic print and the $40 price tag!
I knew it would make a great statement piece but I wasn't sure how to frame/mount it until a couple of weeks ago. Like I said before, I'll be sharing the full tutorial with you on Monday!
This is an older photo but here's what our foyer looked like before:
And here's what it looks like today:
Our foyer is *this close* to being done! The bench needs to be replaced and I'm thinking about replacing the fabric on the sidelight's pelmet box now that the new art is in place. I'm also still looking for a runner. Just a few minor details to address and then it'll be done...maybe ;)
If you're wondering, no, this isn't a sponsored post! Urban Outfitters has no idea who I am. I simply wanted to share how I used their constellations tapestry as art in our foyer :)
