2015

I've been waiting for 2015 to begin for a while now. Don't get me wrong, 2014 was great!

Some highlights include:

  • Getting engaged
  • Celebrating my fiancĂ©'s 30th birthday in Las Vegas
  • Meeting blog friends in real life at Haven
  • Working with Home Depot and
  • Being one of Better Homes and Gardens Top 10 DIY blogs of 2014

I know I'm biased but I think 2015 is going to be the best year ever because...

...we're getting married!

That being said, the blog is going to slow down a lot in 2015. I took some time off around the holidays and really enjoyed not being stressed or frustrated about posts and projects. I didn't realize how much of my life the blog consumed until I stepped away from it!

Anyway, my plan for 2015 is to blog about things as they happen, not to create things just so I have something to blog about. No, I'm not pulling a YHL and bowing out of the blogging game, I'm just taking a big step back to refocus my priorities as we plan our big day! It'd be great if I could plan our wedding while keeping up with my ongoing project list but project supplies cost money and I need to save every penny possible for the wedding.

We've been planning for a little over a month now and I already feel like I'm behind haha I plan on sharing some of the DIY projects we make for the wedding as well as some of the plans for our big day.

We're also in the process of finishing up our laundry room while simultaneously working on our master bedroom and I'll be sharing details from those projects soon.

In the meantime, I want to thank each of you for reading! I can't wait to share more with you soon :)

  1. Doing something, anything, with our master bedroom is one of 2 priority rooms for me this year. I'd really love to see what you come up qith, because it'll likely inspire me. I love your style, afterall. I don't think anyone can really blame you for slowing down and focusing on your wedding. For real, it's a big day that (ideally?) happens just once. Rock it out.

  2. I know the feeling. Awhile ago I made that conscious decision to switch from creating content for the sake of blogging, to blogging as I feel inspired and do things because it's what I want. And you know, my page views have only gone up. I feel like people like that better. I don't have a schedule. And it is amazing. I feel much more charged as a person. I hope your wedding planning goes well, and I can't wait to see the things you come up with :)

  5. I'm so with you on the need to slow down a little! Project funds are pretty slim around here right now and I'm just fighting the "need" to do something to get a blog post out there. I don't think you can go wrong by committing to quality over quantity though! Your 2014 was incredible and I know 2015 will be awesome for you as well!
