DIY Cactus Jewelry Dish

I have this terrible habit of taking my jewelry off and forgetting where I put it. I needed some additional jewelry dishes to put around the house so I made some!



I used the following supplies:



I found the plastic cacti on eBay and the dishes at Target.

I felt a little bit like Goldilocks while shopping for this project haha I ran around to 8 different stores trying to find some dishes that were juuust right! These ones ended up being the winner:



They were on sale for $2.73 each! I washed and dried them and removed the labels before starting the ridiculously easy, doesn't even really need a tutorial project ;)

It's hard to see but I applied a small amount of super glue around the bottom rim of each cacti's sand mound:



I eyeballed the center of the dish and pressed the cactus in place. I held it in place for 30 seconds and set it aside to dry while I glued the other cacti down.



It took me less than 10 minutes to make all 3 jewelry dishes!

So many jewelry hanging options!



I used a dish that had a bit of a lip so I could place extra items around the base of the cacti:



I gave my mom this little guy for her birthday yesterday!



She loved it! :D



I thought about removing the sand mounds and just gluing the cacti in place but I'm glad I kept the sand!



The saguaro is my favorite :)





I'm pretty sure I won't have a problem forgetting my jewelry anymore!
