Happy 12/12/12 AKA the last repetitive date we'll ever see! Are you going to do anything to celebrate? Yeah, me neither ;)

Anyway, I'm hopped up on cold medicine so I'll make this short so I don't embarrass myself. Our house has been Christmasfied!

I stuck our Christmas tree in the corner of our living room where our gray chair used to sit.

If I'm being honest, I'll tell you I don't like it. I think it's because I'm over the red/white/silver theme we've had for 3 years now. I really wanted to buy a fake green flocked tree (and some new ornaments) this year but everything I looked at was so expensive so I passed. I'm hoping to score some good deals after Christmas though so we'll see!

Our cardboard deer got the rudolph treatment:

He looks so cute that I'm contemplating leaving him like this year round :)

Our console table got a festive makeover:

We don't have a mantel (yet -- yes friends, that's a clue) so I pinned the stockings to the bottom of the table:

I got them from Target two years ago and adore their faux fur cuffs and blingy buckles :)

I hung some felt snowflakes from our orchid:

And shoved ornaments in every nook and cranny:

I love the reflection of the tree in the "wreath" mirror:

The tops of our bar and cabinets we're Christmasfied too:

The top of the present is magically balancing on the large silver ornament that's in the box. No idea how it hasn't fallen yet but I'm sure it will now that I typed that haha

So it'd be seen easier, I made everything stand up above the cabinet tops by placing the objects on scrap wood and wood coasters:

I bought these deer from Michael's last year for $60 each (originally $90 each) and L-O-V-E them! They're not as Christmasy as I remember them being so I may incorporate them into a year-round vignette down the road.

And just like that, our Christmas tour is over! Stop by on Friday to see our simple outdoor decor :)

I'm sharing this post at A Thoughtful Place's Christmas Vignette link party :)

  1. Love that white tree. Totally unique! Love all the reds with it. How cute is cardboard Rudolph? Soooo cute. That's how cute! Yes to the red nose from me. Love that. The white deer from Michaels are awesome. I agree - they could work all year round.

  2. This is GORGEOUS! Wow, I know you are over red & white but I am not! I'm a big fan :)

  3. Thanks K! If I can get a green tree for our main tree next year, the white one will move up to our loft!

Alli- Thanks! I like red for Christmas so I'll be keeping everything for next year but (hopefully) mixing it with a different color :)

  4. Love everything. My favorite is the red nose. I might have to do that to out cardboard safari deer. I know the kids would love it!

  5. Beautiful! I thought Roudolph was going to be my favorite till I saw the two fellas on your island. Love!

  6. Thanks Julia! You should add one! I had a bell that was attached to a ribbon and after I removed the first nose piece, I looped the bell through the cuts and then slid that nose piece back in to hold it tight.

    Thanks Amy! :)

  7. Caitlin, your Christmas decorating is knock-out stunning! It blows me away. That giraffe of yours totally does it for me! I heart it. Would it interest you to know that I have his 'brothers' on my shelf? ;-) Well...not quite brothers, but two of the biggies of the bush - an elephant and a rhino - both g.g.gorgeous! You'll have to share where you got this fella from? It's definitely a must-have heart relationship for me! :) Cheers, Hx

  8. Thanks Heather! The giraffe was a Christmas gift last year and he came from Z Gallerie. I also got his rhino friend too! Maybe we have the same one! :)

  9. i love the red nose on your mounted reindeer head. your vignettes are really cute!

  10. Merry Chrissy, Caitlin! Thanks for the giraffe info. :) I'm loving that you have his rhino buddy too! haha I'm sure they're identical twins. So now all you need is the elephant, and all I need is the giraffe - then we'll have our own little safari thing going on here! ;-) Cheers, Hx
