Summer Home Tour

When Gina from The Shabby Creek Cottage invited me to take part in her Summer Tour of Homes I was a little shocked to be honest!

The tour consists of 25 bloggers sharing their beautiful homes this week and my tour is taking place today :)

If you're stopping by from Heather's home at At the Picket Fence, welcome! I'm Caitlin and this is our desert house :)

Come on in :)

Our home has an open floor plan on both stories. Our foyer opens up into our living room, dining room and kitchen:

We recently replaced our old coffee table with a tufted ottoman:

I found the hexagon tray on clearance at HomeGoods and thought it'd be perfect for corralling remotes and what not. One day I might even get around to styling it too ;)

Our bar cart is in our living room near our kitchen. I'd prefer to have it in our dining room but there's no space for it.

We may end up moving it elsewhere but it's fine where it is for now!

We just "finished" (I used finished in quotes because a room is truly never done to me) our living room and I couldn't be happier with the end result!

The gallery wall around our TV is one of my favorite updates:

It puts a smile on my face every day :)

Let's head into our dining room!

Our dining room is currently a work in progress:

I'm still searching for some art so please ignore those two empty frames on the console table we made over ;)

Our DIY crocodile succulent planter is still going strong almost 3 months later! Maybe my black thumb is turning a little greener haha

Since our kitchen is the most finished room in our house, the only changes we've made have been cosmetic ones.

We replaced the builder basic lighting and painted our kitchen island. We also hung a clock and an EAT sign and added some barstools:

We'd love to add a backsplash and some under cabinet lighting but those items are low on the priority list!

Our powder room was one of the first rooms we worked on after we moved in.

We painted it, replaced the lighting, and mirror, made some art and...

Built some DIY chunky wooden floating shelves over our toilet:

Let's head upstairs!

The hallway at the top of our stairs includes another set of chunky wooden floating shelves but these ones have sides:

Our loft is behind the shelves above and it's one of my favorite rooms in our home:

It's a funky mix of DIY projects and accidental furniture purchases.

I hate to say it but that's the end of our tour! Thank you so much for stopping by! If you'd like to see more of our home (including our office), click here to visit our home tour page.

If you like what you see, subscribe to our mailing list (we'll never spam you or sell your info) to get updates on future projects and rooms updates in our home. We're currently working on our guest bedroom and guest bathroom. We also have plans for our laundry room and updates to make to our foyer! :)

Make sure you head on over to Tatertots & Jello to see Jen's home. Her patio makeover is amazing!
