Blogger Stylin' Home Tours: Christmas 2014

I'm participating in The White Buffalo Styling Co.'s Blogger Stylin' Home Tours again this year and I'm so excited to share our 2014 holiday home with you today!

If you're stopping by from This, That, & Life – welcome!

Our DIY Home Alone inspired doormat will lead you inside :)

DIY Home Alone Inspired "Keep The Change, You Filthy Animal" Doormat

If you peek around our Christmas tree, you can see into our living room and dining room.

Living Room Peek

As you can see, we have an open floor plan so I tried to keep all of the "rooms" cohesive.

Christmas Living Room

Our living room looks like this from the landing of our curved staircase.

I added some ribbon to our vintage trunk and topped it with a bowl of ornaments and a beaded red Christmas tree.

Ribbon Wrapped Trunk

Here's the view from our dining room looking into our living room and foyer. It's the spot my fiancĂ© proposed to me from as I was rushing out the door to finish a project :)

Christmas Living Room

I had planned to wrap the photos in our gallery wall up like presents but I ran out of time. Maybe next year!

Christmas Living Room

I filled our large clamshell with some cinnamon scented pinecones. I sprinkled some faux snow on top but it kind of looks like dandruff haha

We don't have a fireplace so our console table acts as a makeshift mantel:

No fireplace? No problem! Use a console table as a makeshift mantel!

Our Christmas tree found a new spot this year!

2014 Christmas Tree

It's the first thing you see when you walk in our door :)

I showed you our holiday bar cart last week but here's a better idea of it's placement in our living room:

Feel free to pour yourself a drink :)

I added some simple red bows to our bar's pendant lights. I love how it makes them look like giant ornaments!

Christmas kitchen

Here's the view of our living room from our fridge/pantry area. I don't think I've shown this view on the blog before!

I set up a milk and cookie station on our bar:

I got the champagne glasses at the Dollar Tree! I thought they were a little fancier than our everyday glasses :)

Our dining table is my favorite space this year!

Candle centerpiece

I lined 12 candles up down the center of our table.

The vases the candles are in came from the Dollar Tree as well!

Christmas console table

I love the warm, romantic glow of the candlelight :)

I filled the bottom of the vases with 1/2 cup of epsom salt before dropping the candle in. I sprinkled some extra epsom salt on the sides of the candle while spinning the vase around to give them a snow blown look. I surrounded the vases with faux buffalo snow.

Christmas tablescape

I used baker's twine to tie a felt snowflake around our napkins. I added a small ornament for fun!

Christmas placesetting

I hope you can stay for dinner :)

    1. Thanks Brynne! Our condo used to be decorated in all black, white, and red. I've shied away from using red in our home so I don't revert back to my old color palette ways but I love busting out all the red during the holidays! :)

  10. This is just beautiful! I love all of the details - but I think the reindeer print is one of my favorites. And I love the end table/trunk with the bow. (But I may be partial to the table since I was there when you bought it.)

    Lovely, as always.

  12. I love all the red and white. I need a daily cookie bar in my house. I have wanted nothing but cookies this whole pregnancy. I'll look like santa in no time :) I think my very favorite touch to all your holiday decor is the red bows on your lights. It's so simple, but it makes a huge, cheery, impact. Merry Christmas my friend!

  13. I love it Caitlin! Everything looks awesome. It's so fun to see someone else with an open floor plan and what you're doing with it. Taking notes!

  14. Everything looks great! I think I really need more red and gold around here next year (although the terra cotta floor in the sunroom messes everything up if we put the tree in there again!). And the reindeer name sign is my favorite, too!
