2017 Holiday Home Tour: Part 2

Welcome to part 2 of our 2017 Holiday Home Tour!
If you missed part 1 of the tour, click here to see our festive foyer and living room :)

Today's tour is hosted by Saher at House Haus Home and features our kitchen and dining room.

To be honest, the tour mainly focuses on our dining room since I kind of ran out of steam (and stuff!) when it came time to style our kitchen.

One of these days we'd like to extend our cabinets all the way to our 10' ceiling to take advantage of the extra 32" of air up there. For now we've topped our cabinets with a long strand of garland to add a tiny bit of extra height :)

We've placed our bar cart at the end of our island because we love it but don't have room to put it anywhere else haha

I fell in love with this nutcracker I found at HomeGoods. I paired him with my vintage champagne bucket that was super tarnished the night before this photo was taken. Thank you Bar Keepers Friend!

Fun fact: I don't drink so those champagne glasses are filled with Martinelli's! My husband and I promptly chugged them all as soon as I was done photographing everything haha

If you're new here, you may have noticed that we have an open concept home. Our dining room is right off of our kitchen and looks like this:

I'm OBSESSED with this year's tablescape so I apologize in advance for the amount of photos you're going to see of it.

When I was setting our table, I realized we were missing 4 pieces of our existing silverware (how?!). I needed to photograph our house in the morning so we made a late night emergency run to Target to buy new silverware. We ended up finding a 20-piece set for $10! We bought 2 sets so we'd have more than enough pieces :)

When I was trying to come up with an idea for dinnerware decor (is that a thing?), my mind went to "brown paper packages tied up with string" so I went out to Michael's and found some brown kraft paper boxes that I tied up with some red and white string :)

Our store only had 5 brown boxes so I grabbed 2 white ones to add to our head place settings.

I wasn't sure how I felt about them at first but I ended up loving the mixed and matched look!

I found the table runner at World Market. I love the little white pom poms that are randomly placed on it – they remind me of snowballs!

I added a large red tinsel bow to the back of our head chairs. The chairs are vintage and were a total steal at $5 each!

The knight that lives in the corner got dressed up for the holidays as well :)

I gave our window the same garland treatment as seen in our living room to keep things consistent throughout our open floor plan:

I wrapped the large print that hangs above our console table with some brown kraft paper to continue the brown paper packages "theme". I added a wreath and some letters to the center of the kraft paper to spell out "JOY".

I topped our table lamps with red pom pom gift toppers I found in the dollar section of Target. They remind me of Rudolph's nose :)

Here's the view from our dining room back into our kitchen:

One more shot of our tablescape because I can't get enough of it!

That wraps up today's tour! I'm sure you know my favorite part by now but I'd love to know yours! Was it the tablescape too? ;) Let me know in the comments below!

If I don't blog again before the New Year, I hope you all have a safe and Happy Holiday season! <3<3 br="">
